The Arthrex Green Policy
 

Instituted on August 15, 2007

Arthrex is committed to conducting our business in a manner that can contribute to 'sustainable development' of the earth, mankind, and companies. We at Arthrex believe that our success is not simply measured materially, but also on how effectively we operate ethically as a company. Our social responsibility includes insuring that we are mindful of the effect our corporate activity has on the earth and mankind. Based on this belief, we have prepared this Arthrex Green Policy. Our mission to help surgeons treat their patients better by contributing to safe and successful patient outcomes can not be accomplished if we ignore our social responsibility of stewardship of our resources. We strive to maintain customer satisfaction with the highest quality products developed in an environmentally sustainable way and create a working environment that supports these goals.

In furtherance of these goals, Arthrex is committed to:

  1. Promoting environmental impact reduction in all product development stages, product sales and corporate facilities.
  2. Complying with legal regulations, standards, and requirements.
  3. Educating employees on our corporate and individual responsibilities to maintain a sustainable environment.
  4. Improving our chemical substance management to reduce environmental risks.
  5. Requiring and educating our vendors on this Policy and our expectations of sustainable manufacturing.
  6. Actively participating in community activities to further this Policy.

Arthrex recycles the following:

Paper, plastic, glass, light bulbs and all electronics.

We reclaim our cutting oils from the mfg. process and reuse.
We have zero discharge of process water, all water is collected and treated.
We utilize all natural biodegradable cleaning materials

Approximately 50% of our Mfg. facilities have the new High Efficiency lighting which significantly reduces energy consumption and heat load.
